Late October Walkthrough

Ground is disturbed, like something dug for the bulbs, but saffron crocus have put up shoots - next to a tomato plant that is still going (though tomatoes only get vaguely orange).
Still have lots of huckleberries newly ripe to pick!
More green beans are ready, and the sunshine blue blueberries are still ripening.

Spring bulbs are also popping up near the house patio - either crocus or muscari.

Scraggly rhodie looking much better after feeding. Glad!

New transplants are all looking ok with fall rains taking over while we were out of town.

Lost an evergreen huckleberry between the scraggly rhodie and fir tree. Didn't get enough water over summer.

Serviceberry shrubs have dropped leaves that only turned mildly yellow. Nothing dramatic there this year, even with the one in the sun.

Serviceberry trees are yellow and pretty against fence.

Transplanted brunnera (that I moved with a ton of dirt!) looks totally happy now. Best transplant I've done yet. Too bad it hurt me for a week or so!

Mukdenia are not as happy. Looking flooded and maybe dead. Hope they come back next year.

Peas from summer seed are still producing.

Camellia buds are promising.

Annual daisies are still hanging on!

Big maple has pretty red leaves!

Emperor I maple  is slowly turning burgundy.

Red flowering currants that I moved look bad, but I see many, many green shoots. Might survive!

It's just beautiful here.

Saffron Crocus bulbs are popping up. Will they bloom this fall already?
