shooting star

I remember what these are. The shooting stars! Both are back, but no flowers.

Wow, this stuff really will take over!

Love the cool wave pansies with the incredible blue brunnera on top.

clematis in rhodie

Hard to see, but they are both winding up through the bare branches. Perfect!

columbine

lithodora

I think this was the blue star variety. Much nicer than the one I got at home depot!

Taking off! Hope the frost tonight doesn't kill it. Under a pot and bag...

tumbler

Another unhappy tumbler in with the surprisingly over wintered snapdragon. Too bad I knocked of a big piece of it: it was nearly ready to bud.

brunnera

A leftover piece of the giant grew back in the old spot. Moved it.

Two did well. One dried up and died.

So frustrating. Tall tumbler tomatoes dried out in one day that got away from me working. Finally got to transplant late afternoon and it's looking too late. Hoping for a comeback, but it doesn't look good.

Montana looks fine, though.

In bloom, all three

April 22

Vancouveria coming up everywhere. Brunnera stunning and huge. Morning widow geranium is almost two feet tall. Old hellebores are putting on huge growth - some look absolutely tropical. Need to thin the hellebore/astilbe situation on the north end on the house! The tulips are amazing with the serviceberry blossoms. The other serviceberry shrub and both trees are leafing out with no sign of blossoms. The there trilliums emerged. Some daffodils are in decline, though most are fine unless slugs, dog, or kids got to them. Rhododendrons have some fat buds and some tiny ones. Clematis look ready to bloom! Blueberries are blossoming.
Did I mention the amazing brunnera?
