Seeds

Planted several nasturtium, West Coast Seed's Tall Single mix. Says they can grow to ten feet. Put a couple under the scraggly rhodie, a couple next to the house gutter around the corner of the patio, and a couple in the deck hanging baskets; maybe they can trail over the edge of the deck, we'll see. Three in the self-watering hanging basket that I plan to put the tumbler tomatoes in soon.

Planted a few chive seeds in the bed nearest the house patio, and transplanted seven chive plants I grew from seed inside. (Seeds from Territorial Seed Company)

Planted a bunch of sunflower seeds (Autumn Beauty from West Coast again) - some along the back fence, some among the red flowering currant I planted between the vine maple and scraggly rhodie.

Speaking of, those new red flowering currants are looking great. They've grown a lot already, and are very full - especially compared to the two I fried last summer along the west fence, then moved to the back of the house; they're alive and recovering, but definitely are nowhere near as happy.

Planted some lettuce seed in a deck planter, and some more bok choy there too. The slugs ate the first batch, all save one, in one night; I need to get up there and protect it somehow.  The spinach is growin slowly, but growing.  Need to feed everything too.

The basil is growing beautifully under the lights, along with the huge number of tomatoes that are growing like CRAZY.  I'm going to have to move them outside, ready or not, before much longer.
